Hi! I’m Elissa. Welcome to Alvarez Voice Studio. I draw from nearly two decades of professional singing and teaching experience to create a studio space where you can cultivate your physical, sensorial, and mental awareness as a vocalist through one-on-one voice lessons. My teaching fuses fundamentals of vocal pedagogy with exploratory embodiment concepts to help you safely find and distill your unique voice.

I’ve taught all levels, from child and adult beginners to professionals, in operatic and art song repertoire, choral literature, musical theater, liturgical music, rock, pop, American standards, and even punk and metal. I’m certified in Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method Level I, and I received my Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance from Boston University.

All singers are welcome, ages 14 and up. I pledge to maintain an open, affirming, and empathetic learning environment for all.
